Job Description

Senior Accountant We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of accounting experience and strong expertise in full-cycle accounting processes. This role involves posting journal entries, reconciling bank accounts, preparing financial statements, and conducting financial analyses. The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and collaborate with a team of seven within the accounting department.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform full cycle accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. Prepare and review consolidated financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Complete state tax returns and ensure timely filing of all required forms. Handle daily postings to the general ledger and ensure accurate data entry. Prepare and send sales invoices, post accounts receivable, and prepare accounts payable. Conduct financial analyses related to lease and debt payments to aid strategic decision making. Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly. Utilize advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and automation of accounting tasks. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts as needed. Support the Accounting Manager in special projects and departmental initiatives.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a corporate setting. Completion of 12 hours of college-level accounting courses (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred). Proficient in preparing and reviewing financial statements and consolidations. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data visualization. Strong understanding of general ledger systems and accounting software. Knowledge of state tax compliance and reporting requirements. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team of seven.
