The Role Water Street Brass is seeking a Senior Level Machinist to join the organization. This position plays an integral role in the production process. They would be responsible for setting up and programming of the Swiss turns, CNC Mills and Lathes, as well as ensuring the quality standards are met. Key Duties and Responsibilities Setting up production runs on CNC Mills and Lathes, 5-500 pieces per job typically. Using the shop schedule and directions from supervisors to determine what jobs need to be completed during shift. Interpreting and understanding part drawings to develop set ups and programs for production runs. Programming CNC Mills and Lathes for production and custom jobs.• Running production on multiple CNC machines simultaneously during shift. Troubleshooting production issues and developing solutions unassisted. Required Knowledge and Skills Certificate or associate degree from a machining, programming, or engineering related program and 5 or more years' experience setting up and programming CNC machines or, 10 or more years' experience setting up and programming CNC machines with some supervisory experience. Experienced with Swiss turn lathe, Fanuc and Mazak programming. Manual Mill and/or Lathe experience. MS Excel proficiency.• Basic SolidWorks skills preferred (ability to gather dimensional information and navigate software). Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a good work ethic. Team player who can take and give directions as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Ability to frequently move about inside the plant to access supplies, parts, tools and equipment. Ability to accurately communicate/ exchange information with teammates and management.
