Job Summary:

This role is for a Senior Data Governance & Metadata Specialist responsible for ensuring high-quality data assets and facilitating data discovery within a retail environment. The ideal candidate will manage metadata, enforce governance policies, and enhance data lineage using advanced tools and platforms. This position requires a proven track record in data stewardship and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and enrich metadata in Atlan, documenting datasets, tables, and pipelines for discoverability. Implement and uphold data cataloging standards, classifications, and business glossary. Define and enforce data governance policies, including RBAC/ABAC and compliance. Build and maintain end-to-end data lineage for impact analysis and traceability. Collaborate with data teams and business stakeholders to improve data accessibility and usability.

Must Have Skills:

Hands-on experience with Atlan or similar data cataloging tools. Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, and lineage principles. Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with modern data platforms.

Domain/Industry Experience:

Retail experience required.
