Senior Financial Analyst, Finance & Accounting | Daily Drills Full-time, hybrid (Mon-Thu in the Daily Drills Brentwood office, Fri remote) Daily Drills is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, Finance & Accounting to support the day-to-day finance and accounting function across reporting, month-end close, inventory analysis, and business performance. This role is ideal for a highly analytical, hands-on finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and wants broad exposure across a growing consumer brand. You will work directly with the VP of Finance, helping drive accurate reporting, timely close processes, analytical insights, and scalable financial operations. This role is designed to create leverage for the VP of Finance by owning recurring deliverables, improving visibility into the business, and supporting informed decision-making. The VP of Finance will retain ownership of forecasting, executive communication, and overall finance strategy. Financial Planning & Reporting
  • Support the annual budgeting process and monthly reforecasting cycles.
  • Maintain financial models for revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, and EBIT.
  • Prepare variance analyses comparing Actuals vs Budget, Forecast, Prior Year, and key business drivers.
  • Assist in preparing monthly cash flow forecasts.
  • Prepare recurring reporting schedules, analyses, and support materials for leadership and parent company stakeholders.
  • Identify business trends, risks, and opportunities through ongoing performance analysis. Sales & Business Performance Analytics
  • Monitor daily sales results and key ecommerce KPIs.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales recaps with insights on trends and performance drivers.
  • Analyze product launches, Friday Happy promotions, and other campaigns to assess results versus expectations.
  • Track AOV, conversion, returns, discounts, margin, and customer demand trends.
  • Support ad hoc analysis tied to pricing, promotions, and revenue opportunities. Accounting & Month-End Close
  • Support the monthly close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare journal entries including commissions, prepaids, depreciation, and deferred revenue.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts including AP, AR, inventory, and prepaids.
  • Coordinate day-to-day workflow with external bookkeeping support and review deliverables for completeness.
  • Maintain schedules and support files for audits, controls, and management review. Inventory & Operational Finance
  • Support monthly inventory reconciliations and inventory aging analysis.
  • Prepare reporting on sell-through, slow movers, replenishment needs, and inventory productivity.
  • Assist with unit planning and buy analysis tied to sales forecasts.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Production and Operations to support inventory strategy and margin goals.
  • Help evaluate purchasing decisions through financial and inventory lens.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in Finance, FP&A, Accounting, or related roles.
  • Experience in ecommerce, retail, apparel, consumer products, or inventory-based businesses strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting fundamentals.
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills required.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Shopify, and inventory systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter who takes ownership and thrives in a lean team structure.
