Job Description
Position Summary The City of Goddard sponsors daily meals for senior citizens through both congregate meals that are served in-person at the Goddard Community Center and homebound delivery meals, which are delivered by community volunteers. These meals are cooked off-site and delivered daily to the community. The Senior Meals Kitchen Coordinator reports to the Senior Center Director and coordinates volunteers that help ensure the meals program is conducted in an effective manner. As a new position, the work hours for this position are currently Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM-12:30 PM, but may be shifted as needed. Meals are served daily (Monday-Friday) except for major holidays or when the Goddard Senior Center is closed. Primary Responsibilities Reviewing and completing required participant registration forms Overseeing kitchen volunteer activities and maintaining service records Supervising overall operation of the congregate meal service Ensuring accurate meal reservations and daily meal counts Complying with Kansas Department of Agriculture standards Overseeing food safety, handling, and serving Observing confidentiality and accountability with monetary contributions Completing reporting and documentation requirements Attending monthly nutrition site manager meetings
Position Qualifications/Attributes Education:
High School diploma or GED required. Post-secondary technical degree or college credit in a related subject is desired. ServSafe or Certified Food Projection Manager (FPM) certification is required. If not already held, selected applicant is expected to obtain this certification within six months of hire date.Experience:
Previous food handling experience is desired. Record keeping and management is also desired.
