This position involves developing mechanical solutions and designing tooling to meet client specifications, with a focus on user value, functionality, timing, and cost-effectiveness. The role requires precision in design to ensure objectives related to safety, ergonomics, and maintainability are achieved. You will utilize 3D CAD modeling, adhering to industry standards, while sourcing, evaluating, and procuring necessary sub-components. Responsibilities include preparing cost and lead-time estimates, managing projects not developed in-house, and ensuring the successful creation, installation, and repair of tooling and equipment. You will also draft comprehensive operating and safety guidelines and provide training resources to end-users. Candidates should have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or comparable experience. With over five years in the field, proficiency in SolidWorks for 2D and 3D CAD, and strong communication and project management skills are crucial. Familiarity with DFMEA/PFMEA, materials science, mechanical systems, and fluid dynamics is expected. Core competencies include performance orientation, customer focus, innovation, and collaborative expertise. The role entails occasional physical demands like lifting up to 45 lbs, climbing, and frequent use of computers and tools, with regular sitting, standing, and movement involved.
