  • Full-time Job Overview The Community Chapel of Melbourne Beach (CCMB), a non-denominational church, is seeking a chaplain or pastor to provide leadership for the congregation into the future.
The ideal candidate will embody visionary leadership, demonstrate compassionate pastoral care, minister effectively to the current congregation, and actively support the growth of both membership and community of believers. Responsibilities Preach the Gospel, counsel the membership, have charge of the spiritual welfare of the congregation and direct the ordering of all Worship Services to ensure services are meaningful, accessible, and spiritually enriching. At the present time, there is a Contemporary Worship Service on Saturday evenings at 6:00 and a Traditional Worship Service on Sunday mornings at 09:30. Work with leadership and staff to establish and execute a vision and plan for the growth of the church and relevant community outreach. This includes leading efforts to design, implement, and evaluate the most effective ministries that will achieve the vision of CCMB. This chapel needs a pastor who has a vision to reach the community at large through evangelism and the application of the sound principles of church growth. Administer the Lord's Supper/Communion to the congregation and the sick and the shut in members of the church and direct the performance of the Ordinance of Baptism Officiate at weddings, funerals, memorial services, baby dedications and any otherservices recognized by the church. Due to the historic nature of the church, there are couples from the community at large who seek to hold their weddings at the chapel. Serve as the spiritual and administrative leader of the church and work in a spirit of cooperation with the Board of Trustees, and other ministries to meet the needs of the congregation and the administration and management of church operations. Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care to the congregation. This includes visitingthe sick, counseling and support during times of grief or other traumatic events and providing communion to shut-ins when possible. Manage the congregational organization through planning, decision making, delegating, evaluating, and managing conflict and stress.
Qualifications Education:
Must have at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education and some seminary training. A master's degree in theology or divinity would be ideal. Must be a licensed and ordained minister or seeking to be ordained. Should show evidence of continuous education and training goals.
Experience:
Must have experience as a Pastor in church or chaplaincy position. Should demonstrate experience in evangelism with an emphasis in church growth.
Skills and Abilities:
Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be warm and approachable. Must have demonstrated the ability to prepare and deliver biblically sound, stimulating, inspirational, and spirit-filled sermons with application to everyday life. Must have the ability to establish trust and credibility with the members of the CCMB ensuring strict confidentiality. Should have a good working use of technology/computer skills.
