About The Role As a Principal Consultant - Transformation, you will play a pivotal role in leading complex transformation programmes for public and private sector clients across New Zealand. Acting as a trusted senior advisor, you will shape strategy, design and deliver pragmatic solutions, and work side by side with clients to drive meaningful, measurable outcomes across areas such as operating model design, business strategy, organisational effectiveness, customer experience and modern product practices. You'll lead and mentor high‑performing consulting teams, build deep client relationships, and contribute to business growth through thought leadership and pursuit support. This role suits an experienced consultant who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys solving complex problems, and is motivated by creating lasting impact for clients, teams and the broader organisation. What You'll DoLead and deliver transformation engagements with a focus on operational efficiency, org design, business strategy, modern product practices, organisational effectiveness, customer experience, or portfolio leadership. Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring solutions are tailored to client needs and deliver measurable value. Manage business operations to support healthy team performance and growth. Collaborate across teams to contribute to Slalom's growth and community development. Take ownership of strategic initiatives and solutions specific to the New Zealand market. Represent and expand Slalom's presence, brand, and impact in New Zealand. Responsible for mentoring and coaching team members to develop their consulting skills, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure the successful delivery of transformation initiatives What You'll BringPrior management consulting experience in an engagement-based, client-facing environment 7+ years of functional experience in project management, operational improvement and/or organisational effectiveness through consulting or operational roles Technical expertise (and preferably accreditation) in an area of focus such as Agile, Lean Six Sigma, SAFe, Change Management, Product Management, Facilitation or Leadership Coaching Experience in developing winning proposals and solutions in response to customer needs Experience in leading engagement teams and managing people through planning, performance and talent development cycles Ability to develop and apply structured approaches and methodologies to your project work Ability to develop specific plans to mitigate or address client concerns and engagement risks Ability to develop a set of actionable and targeted solution plans or strategies as necessary Our Values Our culture and values reflect each individual Slalomer.
