10:00am-6:30pm We're hiring a Senior Receiving Specialist for a company in Itasca, IL. The Senior Receiving Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the accurate and efficient receipt of materials supporting industrial equipment manufacturing. This position offers an excellent opportunity to leverage extensive receiving expertise, uphold high standards of accuracy and safety, and contribute to continuous process improvements in a dynamic industrial environment. This is an associate to hire opportunity. Senior Receiving Specialist Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and other documentation to ensure accuracy and conformance
  • Process receipts accurately within the ERP system (currently Qantel, with future upgrades planned) and support data integrity during ERP transitions
  • Identify, resolve, and document shortages, damages, incorrect shipments, and discrepancies, coordinating with Purchasing, Inventory Control, Production, and Quality departments
  • Perform inventory transactions, materials put-away, and location control accurately; support cycle counting and discrepancy resolution efforts
  • Support production flow by staging materials and maintaining organized, clean, and safe storage and receiving areas, adhering to 5S standards
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely to move incoming materials, following all safety procedures and protocols
  • Proactively identify and resolve receiving issues to prevent disruptions to production, taking ownership and driving resolutions with urgency
  • Maintain a safe work environment, supporting safety procedures and PPE compliance in an industrial setting
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to receiving accuracy, organization, and process discipline
Senior Receiving Specialist Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of receiving experience within a manufacturing environment, with strong background in handling industrial components and mechanical assemblies
  • Proficiency processing transactions in ERP systems; experience with Qantel or similar systems preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret receiving documentation, purchase orders, packing slips, and part documentation accurately
  • Forklift certification and experience, with overhead crane operation skills
  • Demonstrated strong inventory accuracy, material control discipline, and attention to detail
  • High sense of urgency, accountability, and ownership in managing tasks and resolving issues
  • Ability to lift and handle 40+ pounds frequently throughout the shift
  • Experience in OEM, custom equipment, or industrial manufacturing settings preferred
  • Background supporting high-mix/low-volume manufacturing environments preferred
  • Knowledge of inventory control best practices, continuous improvement, and 5S principles preferred
  • Experience supporting ERP system transitions or working within multiple ERP platforms preferred
  • Industrial manufacturing environment with large equipment and machinery
  • Mandatory PPE use and strict adherence to safety standards required at all times
