The Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for developing, negotiating, and implementing strategic sourcing solutions that enhance Delta Systems' profitability by controlling/reducing costs and by optimizing supply chain efficiencies. The role requires familiarity with the complete range of strategic sourcing activities, including spend analysis, category management, contract negotiation, and the management of strategic supplier relationships. In-depth knowledge of the electronics industry is required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Manages and executes best-in-class sourcing strategies to include risk management/risk mitigation, due diligence, leading price negotiations, contract preparation and execution, and providing information and influence to facilitate award decisions. Drives identification and implementation of total cost of ownership reduction (ex: tariffs) and other continuous improvement opportunities and drives implementation of best sourcing practices. Participates in multifunctional New Product Development meetings to understand technical requirements of new purchased components and services, to provide timely, accurate, and competitive RFQ's for prototypes, tooling, and production parts, and to issue SPAP PO's and coordinate the arrival of components from supplier to Delta Systems, Inc. Enters supplier information, purchasing and planning details, and standard costs for new components and services. Executes RFIs and RFQs, and leads supplier selection, negotiation, and qualification Manages the business relationship with strategic and transactional suppliers Strategic consultant to internal customers - applies industry and category knowledge to recommend solutions that align to business needs, strategy, compliance, and corporate and procurement policy. Monitors and analyzes industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and utilize emerging opportunities Leads critical shortage meeting to discuss potential electronic shortages, works with Engineering and suppliers to mitigate risks and ensure supply. Meets regularly with electronic suppliers and as needed with problem suppliers to identify potential shortages and establish recovery plans to support production Coordinates meetings between Delta Project Teams and suppliers to review future technologies and ensure current project timelines are met Collaborates with suppliers and internal customers to identify and implement continuous improvement and value-add projects. Collaborates with Buyer/Strategic Sourcing Specialist/Engineering/Quality to resolve supplier-related issues. Completes prior year's annual Usage, Spend, and Commodity analyses Calculates and reports PPV each period Reviews and updates raw material standard costs for annual re-valuation (or more as needed) Reviews and approves all raw material PO vs invoice discrepancies and coordinates with Buyer/Planner and Strategic Sourcing Specialist to reduce future occurrences. Approves all freight invoices and assigns appropriate department GL account Develops and implements business processes as needed and submits for approval Other duties as assignedWhat We're Looking For:
Education and/or Experience This position requires: Minimum five years of experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management with knowledge of MRP within a manufacturing environment Minimum five years of experience in electronics or electromechanical sourcing with demonstrated industry knowledge Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Engineering from an accredited institution International sourcing experience and willingness to travel domestically and internationally are preferred Preferred professional association certification (APICS, CPSM)Skills:
Strong analytical, negotiation, contracts, influence, and leadership skills Ability to think strategically (business processes, industry dynamics, short/long term impacts, supplier capabilities and manufacturing practice, general market conditions, etc.) Excellent oral and written communication skills Confident, results-oriented, and proactive mindset Ability to work independently or on a team Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, prioritize, and establish goals with accountability. Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills Reads and correctly interprets Schematics, Blueprints, Wire Diagrams, Process Instructions, BOMs, Assembly Drawings, and Component Specification Sheets.
