Job Description
Senior Tax Associate - Job Description Position Summary The Senior Tax Associate is responsible for preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, providing tax planning and compliance services, and supporting client relationships. This role requires strong technical tax knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to mentor junior staff while managing multiple engagements. Key Responsibilities Tax Compliance & Preparation Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and estates Ensure compliance with current tax laws, regulations, and firm standards Research complex tax issues and prepare clear, well-supported conclusions Assist with tax notices, audits, and correspondence with taxing authorities Tax Planning & Advisory Identify tax planning opportunities and strategies for clients Assist with entity structuring, multi-state taxation, and transactional tax matters Communicate tax implications and recommendations clearly to clients Client & Engagement Management Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients Manage multiple engagements and deadlines simultaneously Coordinate with managers and partners to ensure timely delivery of services Team Leadership & Development Review work prepared by junior staff for accuracy and completeness Provide guidance, training, and feedback to Associates and Interns Assist with workflow planning and delegation of tasks Process Improvement & Firm Support Maintain organized workpapers and documentation Contribute to process improvements and best practices within the firm Stay current on tax law changes and professional standards Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's in Taxation a plus) CPA license or CPA-eligible preferred 3-6 years of public accounting tax experience Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax laws Experience with tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, UltraTax, or similar) Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Preferred Skills Experience with multi-state taxation Strong client service mindset Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Pay:
$87,666.65 - $105,577.04 per yearBenefits:
