Since the launch of the ServoSled catapult acceleration system Seattle Safety has become the dominant crash sled system supplier with a leading global market share. We also design and manufacture crash barrier systems and high-intensity LED lighting systems. Our testing equipment improves vehicle safety by giving engineers and researchers the best crash simulation systems for producing accurate and repeatable impacts. Our systems are installed in automotive and aerospace facilities in 14 different countries in Asia, Europe, North and South America. About the Position As a Service Technician you will be responsible for using strong mechanical aptitude to ensure that the methods used to install and maintain equipment align with its design and the needs of the end users. You will also use your skills working with customers and installation personnel to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues remotely and to help plan for upcoming maintenance interventions. Able to meet goals and prioritize as necessary to handle multiple projects simultaneously and under challenging conditions and deadlines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned at any time: Communicates clearly and professionally with all areas of the organization; documents on‐site issues and works with the engineering department to develop design conscience, cost effective solutions. Review SolidWorks and technical drawings for troubleshooting and customer assistance. Processes daily installation and service reports from the field to generate overall project reports. Coordinates with customers on schedule and maintenance requirements. With experience, answers technical questions from customers about their system and remotely troubleshoots issues to minimize equipment downtime. Communicates design intent to Installation technicians. Knowledgeable of the tools used to perform installation/service work and can safely use them without guidance; responsible for organizing and packing of required tools. Travel to customer facilities regularly for troubleshooting, performing maintenance, installation of new products and recommends potential upgrades or improvements while in the field. Writes complete and thorough daily and final Installation/Service Reports. Represents company values and demonstrates a professional approach to working directly with customers and international sales representatives in the field. Experience:
Technical school or associate's degree from an accredited institution in mechanical, industrial, electrical systems or equivalent experience is a plus. 5 years' experience working in field repair, maintenance or mechanical customer service. Capacity to review and interpret engineering drawings or blueprints. Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D modeling program is a plus. Strong computer skills. Excellent communication skills.
