Service Writer / Production Coordinator (Custom Luxury Golf Carts)

Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Service Writer / Production Coordinator to join our team specializing in custom luxury golf carts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive service management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering premium product. Experience in dealership settings, auto diagnostics, and mechanical knowledge will be highly valued to effectively oversee service processes and support sales initiatives. Responsibilities Order & RO Management Convert customer sales orders into detailed, accurate Repair Orders (ROs) for each cart Production Coordination Place ROs into the production queue based on priority, deadlines, and capacity Act as the central point of communication between sales, parts, assembly, paint, electrical, and quality Track each cart as it moves through the production line and remove bottlenecks Adjust schedules and workflows to keep builds moving efficiently Floor Leadership & Accountability Actively manage production personnel to ensure productivity, pace, and focus Identify and correct slowdowns, complacency, or quality shortcuts Hold team members accountable to timelines, workmanship, and standards Escalate issues early and drive solutions—not excuses Quality Control Ensure each cart meets our luxury fit, finish, and performance standards Confirm all RO items are completed before carts advance to the next stage Perform or coordinate final build verification prior to delivery or shipment Enforce consistency and attention to detail across every build Process Improvement Identify inefficiencies, repeat errors, and workflow gaps Recommend improvements to RO structure, production flow, and quality checkpoints Help standardize processes while maintaining flexibility for custom builds Ensure every component, option, and customization is correctly listed on the RO Verify part accuracy, compatibility, and availability prior to releasing builds Work with parts and purchasing to resolve shortages or discrepancies before production delays occur Skills Experience as an automotive service writer, production coordinator, shop foreman, or similar role Strong understanding of custom builds, parts verification, and work order systems Ability to read, interpret, and audit detailed build specifications Proven ability to manage people , including difficult or underperforming employees High attention to detail with zero tolerance for "close enough" work Strong communication and organizational skills Comfortable working on the production floor—not just behind a desk This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a premium luxury golf cart company dedicated to quality craftsmanship and exceptional customer satisfaction.
