Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a friendly, motivated, and dependable Shift Lead / Shift Manager - Creamery & Café to join our team. This leadership role involves overseeing daily shift operations, delivering exceptional customer service, supporting team members, and ensuring smooth café and creamery operations in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service, cashiering, inventory management, and team leadership, with a passion for creating a positive guest experience while maintaining high operational standards. Responsibilities Lead and supervise daily café and creamery operations during assigned shifts Open and close the store, including cash handling, register balancing, and end-of-day reporting Delegate tasks and support team members to ensure efficient workflow and excellent customer service Train, coach, and motivate staff on customer service standards, food safety, cleanliness, and operational procedures Prepare and serve a variety of ice cream, specialty drinks, coffee, boba, and café items with attention to quality and presentation Operate POS systems such as Clover POS and Micros POS for transactions including sales, upselling, refunds, and cash handling Monitor staff performance and assist with resolving customer concerns or service issues professionally Conduct inventory counts, monitor stock levels, place restocking requests, and report inventory discrepancies to management Maintain inventory organization and ensure product displays are clean, stocked, and visually appealing Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are consistently maintained throughout food prep areas, dining spaces, storage areas, and equipment Enforce food safety procedures, proper food handling, and health compliance standards Assist with scheduling support, shift coverage coordination, and maintaining productivity during peak business hours Support team members by multitasking between customer service, food preparation, cleaning, and operational duties as needed Monitor daily operations to ensure efficiency, minimize waste, and maintain high-quality service standards Assist management with operational reporting, supply tracking, and overall shift performance Requirements Previous shift manager/lead experience in food service, café, restaurant, or retail environments required; leadership or supervisory experience preferred Experience in quick service or fast-food environments is a plus Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of POS systems such as Clovera POS or Micros POS is advantageous Experience with inventory management, stock organization, and shift operations preferred Ability to lead by example while delivering exceptional customer service to guests of all ages Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, deposits, and balancing registers accurately Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage time effectively during busy shifts Food safety certification or willingness to obtain one prior to employment is preferred Experience with food preparation, espresso machines, coffee service, or kitchen operations is beneficial Reliable, punctual, and flexible to work evenings, weekends, and peak business hours as needed Reliable transportation preferred This position offers an engaging leadership opportunity where you can build your management and operations experience while helping create memorable guest experiences.
