Job Description

Position Summary The Shipper is responsible for accurately preparing, packaging, labeling, and coordinating outbound shipments of finished battery components and materials. This role ensures all products are shipped in accordance with customer requirements, industry regulations, and company quality and safety standards. This person will also be cross-trained to work in the Cleanroom. Key Responsibilities Shipping & Documentation Prepare and package outbound battery components and materials for shipment. Create and verify shipping documents (BOLs, packing lists, labels, export documents if applicable). Ensure accuracy of shipment quantities, part numbers, and customer specifications. Schedule carriers and coordinate pickup times with logistics partners. Maintain records of shipped materials in the ERP system. Material Handling Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment. Stage finished goods for shipment based on daily shipping schedule. Load trucks securely to prevent damage during transit. Quality & Compliance Inspect product packaging for damage, compliance, and accuracy. Follow all hazardous material handling procedures (if applicable to battery components). Adhere to internal quality standards and
ISO/IATF
procedures. Ensure proper labeling and documentation for lithium-ion battery component shipments as required by DOT and industry regulations. Inventory & Coordination Communicate with Production, Quality, and Warehouse teams to resolve shipment discrepancies. Assist with cycle counts and inventory verification as needed. Report shortages, damages, or shipping errors promptly. Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-2 years of shipping/warehouse experience preferred, ideally in manufacturing. Experience in battery or Cleanroom environment (preferred but not required). Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and work instructions. Basic computer skills (ERP systems, shipping software, email). Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Forklift certification or ability to obtain one. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moderate noise and industrial equipment.

Battery Components is a joint venture between Fujihatsu Tech America, Inc. and Toyota Tsusho American, Inc. that focuses on manufacturing prismatic aluminum cell cases and cell covers for lithium-ion batteries, particularly for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and battery electric vehicles (BEVs). The new facility is located in Liberty, North Carolina, and aims to create over 150 new jobs to meet the increasing demand for automotive batteries.
