Job Title:
Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Clerk accurately receives, verifies, labels, and routes incoming products while preparing and scanning items for timely shipment. This role uses material handling equipment and computer systems to maintain precise inventory records and support efficient warehouse operations. Responsibilities Match incoming products against purchase orders to verify accuracy of items received. Physically inspect, count, and label incoming products to ensure correct quantities and identification. Designate received products to the appropriate site or area based on operational needs. Scan each item into the correct container, such as pallets or bins, to prepare them for shipment. Use pallet jacks and forklifts to safely move products throughout the warehouse. Enter and update inventory data, including part numbers and quantities, in the computer system. Support shipping activities by picking, packing, and preparing orders for outbound shipment. Perform inventory control tasks, including cycle counts, to maintain accurate stock levels. Use RF scanners to track, locate, and confirm products during receiving, picking, and shipping processes. Assist with loading and general labor tasks as needed to support overall warehouse operations. Follow established processes and procedures learned during training to maintain consistent workflow. Adhere to all safety guidelines, including proper use of equipment and required protective footwear. Essential Skills At least 2 years of shipping and/or receiving experience. At least 2 years of receiving experience in a warehouse or similar environment. Intermediate computer skills with strong data entry capabilities. Strong attention to detail and accurate counting ability. Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including picking and packing. Ability to operate a pallet jack to move products safely. Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to complete forklift training. Experience with inventory control and cycle counts. Ability to use RF scanners for inventory and order processing. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted. Comfort working in a general labor and warehouse environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Strong computer literacy for entering inventory data and part numbers. Experience with e-fulfillment or warehouse implementation environments is beneficial. Comfort working with loading activities and general labor tasks. Willingness to participate in forklift training provided by the employer. Ability to follow structured processes and adapt to hands-on training. Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled shifts with occasional overtime. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in an e-fulfillment warehouse that supports end-to-end implementation services, from design consultation to technical integration, buildout, and retrofits, with a strong focus on maximizing site efficiency. You will work with material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and RF scanners, and use computer systems to manage inventory and orders. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime as needed and communicated in advance. The environment is active and hands-on, with general labor and loading tasks as part of the daily workflow. Steel-toed shoes and jeans are required as part of the dress code to support safety and practicality in the warehouse setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Hartford, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
