Position Overview The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is a key member of our shipping team and plays a critical role in finalizing projects for our customers. Our shipping teams are our finishers, ensuring products are properly packaged, protected, and shipped on time. This role directly supports our company's reputation for quality, accuracy, and meeting customer deadlines. Primary Responsibilities Shipping & Crating Build custom crates and packaging to protect finished signs and components while minimizing unnecessary packaging costs. Prepare, package, label, and stage shipments for delivery or installation Load and unload materials, signs, and crates safely Coordinate shipments to ensure deadlines and schedules are met Ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper packaging. Work with shipping carriers to balance cost, lead time, and reliability. Prevent missed or forgotten items that result in additional shipping expenses. Receiving & Material Handling Receive and inspect incoming materials and components Verify shipments against packing slips and report discrepancies Organize materials and maintain clean, efficient staging areas Tools & Equipment Safely use or learn to use band saws, miter saws, nail guns, drills, power tools, and paint equipment Accurately read measuring tapes and work from basic instructions or drawings Quality, Safety, & Teamwork Follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail Work independently while remaining a strong team player Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment Take ownership of work and perform under pressure to meet production schedules Inventory Control & Tracking Assist in implementing inventory control measures to reduce theft, loss, and waste. Support the adoption and use of material tracking technologies and processes. Monitor material spending and contribute to improvement initiatives.
