Shipping Associate

Warehouse Associate Responsibilities Receive materials arriving from vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly. Verify the quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against packing lists. Examine incoming shipments, identify and reject damaged items, and accurately report and record any discrepancies. Place received materials correctly on shelves, racks, or other designated storage areas to maintain an organized warehouse. Enter quantities and relevant information for received materials into the computer system with a high level of accuracy. Attach tags, cones, or other identifiers to materials, or clearly mark information on cases, bales, and other containers. Pick and assemble products according to order requirements to prepare customer shipments. Review picked orders carefully to confirm that items, quantities, and descriptions are correct before shipping. Prepare all required shipping documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Build and prepare pallets for shipping to ensure safe and secure transport. Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely to move, load, and unload materials. Support general shipping and receiving activities and contribute to overall warehouse efficiency. Work efficiently and independently while following established processes and procedures. Essential Skills Experience in shipping and receiving operations in a warehouse environment. Hands-on experience with order picking and assembling shipments. Ability to operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts safely. Capability to accurately verify quantities and descriptions of materials against packing lists. Basic computer skills to enter and update quantities and shipment information in a system. Strong attention to detail for reviewing orders and documentation. Ability to work efficiently and independently while following established processes. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to address issues that arise during receiving or shipping. No degree required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Go-getter attitude with a strong sense of initiative. Ability to learn new processes and procedures quickly. Efficient work style with a focus on accuracy and timeliness. Comfort working in a fast-paced warehouse or production environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
