Acts as liaison between Shipping Department and Customer Experience Department for changes, cancellations, and additions to orders. Schedules and coordinates shipments between the company, customers and freight carriers. Collects data and measures and analyzes department performance.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Collects, sorts and prioritizes new orders from Customer Service Department. Evaluates, counts, records and distributes orders to the Shipping Department team members. Prioritizes customer rush orders. Navigate our shipping partner's website to provide tracking, and shipment information upon request. Keeps up to date with customer's TMS systems for scheduling pickups and which items are routed through their software. Evaluates orders for special customer instructions - routes and communicates as necessary. Fulfills product orders and provides special delivery to/for: o Production Department for value added services. o Employee orders. o Customer pickups. Computes COD charges as requested by customers - Re-calculates freight charges for COD orders. Reserves merchandise and allocates to customer orders. Communicates with Customer Support Department regarding various issues including: o Correcting errors on existing orders. o Reserving product for specified orders. o Verifying inventory levels. o Identifying and locating orders to make changes, cancellations and additions. Files shipment claims due to delivery shortages or damages to product. Coordinates rush orders—Notifies Sales Department of out-of-stock situations. Receives and expedites shipments of non-inventory orders. Prepares inventory counts and participates in cycle counts and full inventory activities. Verifies inventory counts prior to issuing of back orders and change orders. Coordinates with IT Staff to correct orders that have been over/under picked, have freight issues, or have been in process beyond the expected order process time frame Rates and selects freight carrier for best cost and service. Records expected freight cost and applies freight value to orders. Schedules freight carriers and completes Bills of Lading and all necessary documents including pro forma invoices for export deliveries. Manages the product blocks for damaged product and missing inventory. Participates in Sales and Operations Planning Process including performance measurement and implementation of improvement opportunities.Skills and knowledge:
Multi-task capabilities. Willing to perform regular warehouse/shipping/receiving duties during peak periods. Ability to work accurately and efficiently. Dependable self starter with a positive attitude. Knowledge of SAP R/3, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Excel spreadsheets desirable.Education and Experience:
High School Diploma Required, college degree in Business discipline or Supply Chain Management preferred. 1-2 years experience in warehousing activitiesJob Type:
