LEAD JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

This job requires the employee to perform the following tasks: Verify sales orders are shipped correctly in FIFO compliance.

Schedule outbound appointments with carriers using MS Outlook.

Ensure shipments are shipped on time to prevent delay in deliveryEnsure appointed trucks arrive as scheduled, follow up as necessary.

Prepare outgoing parcel packages.

Support the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System.

TIME JOB FUNCTIONS 1. 40

% Verify sufficient inventory to cover scheduled outbound orders. Report any shortages to C/S team. Schedule outbound appointments using MS Outlook. Prepare and generate parcel packages, including printing of labels for outbound shipments. 2. 30% Verify the sales orders are filled with proper adherence to FIFO and items on the sales order, and investigate variances in the system. Prints out the pick list of items to be loaded with quantity and gives to the loader. Ensure correct labels are placed on items that require labeling prior to shipment. Retrieve required document(s) for freight invoices as necessary. 3. 20% Perform the duties as Shipping Clerk on an as needed basis for breaks, vacations, and/or during busy times. 4. 5% Ensures that polices/procedures are enforced and maintains a safe and clean work environment. 5. 5% Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requires a high school diploma and basic math and computer skills.

Years and Type of Related Experience Required:

Must have Microsoft office experience, previous shipping experience preferred but not required.

Interpersonal and Communication:

Requires good oral and written communication skills; must have the ability to work independently.

Technical and Analytical:

Must be organized and must have the ability to perform required task

Administrative and Operations:

Must be reliable, punctual and exercise good safety habits.

Physical Demands:

Requires walking, sitting, the ability to bend and stoop, as well as lift 50 lbs on occasion and climbing up and down stairs.

Work Environment:

Exposed to extreme cold/hot temperatures, high noise levels, wet floors. This is a Safety Sensitive Position.
