The Opportunity This role is responsible for overseeing shipping and receiving operations during an assigned shift to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient movement of finished goods. The position serves as a key point of coordination between production, warehouse teams, customers, and transportation partners. The individual in this role supports daily operations, leads the team during the shift, and helps drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Direct all shipping and receiving activities for the shift, including pallet validation, staging, and load accuracy. Coordinate daily shipping needs with production, supervisors, and offsite warehouses to maintain efficient product flow. Ensure all shipping documentation, system entries, and records are accurate and completed on time. Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, carriers, and Customer Service regarding scheduling, load status, and issues. Communicate delays, shortages, or operational concerns promptly and professionally. Conduct shift hand‑offs to ensure smooth transitions between teams. Collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues impacting order fulfillment and customer satisfaction. Provide direction, guidance, and support to shipping associates. Assist with training and reinforcement of standard operating procedures. Lead shipping operations in the absence of the Shipping Manager. Support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce errors. Follow all safety, GMP, and food packaging quality standards. Maintain 5S standards within the department. Report any safety, environmental, or quality risks to management. Participate in training, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts. Perform additional duties as assigned. What You Need to Succeed High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in shipping, distribution, warehouse, or manufacturing environments. Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments. Ability to prioritize, multitask, and problem‑solve in a fast‑paced environment. Working knowledge of warehouse operations, safety practices, and material handling. Familiarity with GMP and AIB standards preferred. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
