Logistics Manager About the Role Smith Forest Products is looking for a dependable, organized, and motivated person to help coordinate daily shipping, production flow, and truck traffic at our Sterrett facility. This is a hands-on operations role that combines logistics, shipping coordination, production communication, and yard activity. You'll work directly with drivers, forklift operators, production staff, and sales personnel to help keep loads moving efficiently throughout the day. This role is ideal for someone who likes staying busy, solving problems, and being a key part of daily operations. Key Responsibilities Coordinate outgoing shipments and monitor production readiness Schedule pickups and deliveries with drivers and carriers Check trucks in and out while directing traffic throughout the yard Prepare and verify shipping paperwork and load documentation Track inbound and outbound shipments within the system Communicate load priorities and urgent shipment needs with production and sales teams Verify product counts, labeling, and shipment accuracy Assist with LTL freight coordination and shipment tracking Report shortages, damages, or shipping discrepancies as needed What We're Looking For Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Comfortable working with drivers, plant personnel, and operations staff throughout the day Comfortable using computers, email, spreadsheets, and shipment/inventory systems Dependable attendance and attention to detail Experience in shipping, logistics, dispatch, warehouse, or manufacturing environments preferred Work Environment Combination office and plant/yard environment Active role involving walking the yard, checking loads, and communicating with production teams Ideal for someone who enjoys staying busy and does not want a desk-only position
