Shipping, Receiving, and Facilities Support

Shipping, Receiving, and Facilities Support Sterling Engineering & Fabrication, a custom steel fabricator, is searching for the perfect candidate to fill an integral position in our plant. The ideal shipping, receiving, and facilities candidate has a strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail. Responsibilities:

Load and unload steel materials from trucks. Prepare outgoing shipments of fabricated parts, assemblies, and products. Complete shipment checklists including verifying quantities, photos of outgoing loads, and communicating with logistics. Inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies Communicate shortages or issues to purchasing or management. Organize warehouse storage areas for efficiency and safety. Support team by staging materials as needed. Perform various cleaning & facility upkeep. Ability to follow company policy and procedures. Observe chain of command as indicated on the Company Organizational Chart. Complete daily 5S requirements

Required Skills:

Intermediate computer skills. Organized, with strong attention to detail and time management skills. Exceptional attention to detail. Superior communication skills. Dependable with a strong record of punctuality. Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain). Operate forklifts or pallet jacks to move materials and products. Basic familiarity with hand tools. Work at consistent pace as the schedule dictates. Ability to self-manage or work in a team. Ability to lift over 50lbs+ throughout a shift. Problem-solving skills. Must have reliable transportation. Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move over an 8-hour shift without issue. Quick learner.

Desired skills:

Experience working in shipping/receiving. Overhead crane and forklift experience.
