Job Description

PMG Shop Manager/Foreman Overview:
Manages all transportation-related, vehicle and shop-based equipment while also ensuring that repairs are performed correctly and efficiently. Equipment ranges from a fleet of approximately 40 tractors and trailers to tools and repair machinery. Shop Manager/Foreman - Responsibilities
  • Oversees and manages master inventory of all vehicles
  • Compiles and manages repair and maintenance history and logs for all vehicles
  • Ensures repairs are completed correctly
  • Checks progress of each repair
  • Maintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks
  • Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality
  • Supports and provides ultimate supervision of all repair and refurb required on. event-related display elements
  • Understands and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures
  • Assigns road tests for vehicles to quality-check work performed
  • Accounts for all maintenance and repair documents; ensures that none are missing, and all are processed correctly
  • Establishes and maintains follow-up program to confirm satisfaction with vehicle servicing
  • Manages receipt and filing of all vehicle inspection reports generated by PMG smart phone app via specific driver assignments
  • Monitors shop condition, including cleanliness, safety and the condition of shop equipment
  • Reports problems via proper channels
  • Ensures the proper care, storage and inventory of special tools
  • Keeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchases
  • Attends weekly managers meetings and program launch meetings, as necessary
  • Strives for harmony and teamwork within the company
  • Maintains safe work environment
  • Maintains professional appearance
  • Other tasks as assigned Shop Manager/Foreman - Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
  • Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Shop Manager/Foreman - Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public Shop Manager/Foreman - Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
