Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and dependable Shop Mechanic to join our team. The Shop Mechanic will be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide variety of vehicles, equipment, and machinery in a shop environment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently to ensure equipment operates safely and reliably. Key Responsibilities Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on vehicles, machinery, and equipment. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems. Repair or replace defective parts such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, steering components, and electrical systems. Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts inventory. Use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively. Ensure all repairs meet safety and and performance standards. Communicate clearly with supervisors, operators, and team members regarding repair needs, timelines, and recommendations. Keep work area organized, clean, and compliant with safety regulations. Assist with ordering parts, supplies, and materials as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (technical school or certification preferred). 2+ years of experience as a mechanic, technician, or similar role (shop or field). Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and work orders. Skilled with diagnostics equipment, tools, and repair techniques. Valid driver's license (CDL may be required for some positions). Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks in a shop setting. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Preferred Skills ASE certifications or equivalent. Welding and fabrication experience. Knowledge of heavy equipment or fleet maintenance.
