Job Description

NATURE AND SCOPE
This position is accountable for ensuring materials for scheduled jobs and service calls are received, picked, packaged, and dated for timely delivery. This position is accountable for receiving needed materials via phone calls, emails, text messages, etc and working directly with field representatives to ensure correct materials are supplied to complete on site projects. This position interacts with Fabrication Plant personnel, field personnel, and superintendents as needed as well as various internal departments.
Principle Job Responsibilities:
MATERIAL PICKER
Pull and prepare for shipping all stock listed specials so necessary items are properly distributed as needed. Keep paperwork organized on all back ordered materials and make Purchasing Agent aware of the shortage. Fill out shortage information to be sent to job site to properly monitor and correct shortages. Keep the warehouse clean, organized and clutter free and act as the shipping agent when shipping from the warehouse, to ensure an efficient and accurate shipping system. Assist in a different area when needed, as directed by Fabrication Manager, to always be utilizing oneself productively. Continuously observe all safety procedures to ensure a safe work place.
SHOP SERVICE SUPPORT SPECIALIST
Supplying all required material and equipment related to service work to the field. Providing off-hour fabrication and delivery support for Service Calls. Providing up-to-date communication to the field and Daywork Superintendent and or Service Administrator, regarding the status of all material, fabrication and delivery needs for Service work. Staying up-to-date with the latest technology, materials and equipment utilized within the service market. Develop a working knowledge of sprinkler systems, equipment, and appurtenances. Provide as requested; catalogue cuts, information sheets, etc., related to equipment needed or used in the service market. Assure that all material, equipment, fabrication and delivery charges are costed accurately for invoicing purposes. Work with the Manager of Fabrication to ensure the most efficient methods of supporting service-related work. Work with the Manager of Purchasing to ensure the most efficient methods of procuring and delivering material and equipment to the field or service-related projects. Work with the DayWork Superintendent to ensure an efficient inventory of material is maintained on each service van to minimize unscheduled deliveries from the shop. Work with Field Service Specialist to understand and procure all necessary material and equipment needed for service-related work.
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES
Problem solve for other management personnel in their absence to facilitate and expedite job site continuity. Review own performance with Fabrication Manager annually to identify and determine individual manager's strengths and weaknesses so that proper developmental actions can be taken.
