Job Description

Position Summary:
Small Cell Solutions, LLC, is seeking highly motivated individuals who take initiative and thrive with minimal supervision. As the crew lead, this position is responsible for independent execution of wireless communications construction, troubleshooting / repair & replacement of equipment, and managing assigned team members.
Essential Functions:
Lead a crew of 1
  • 3 team members in various ground civil and aerial construction work.
Communicating and working with office-based team members from the office, while at the work site, via e-mail, verbally, and in writing including report writing. Prepare individual site Job Hazard Assessments (JHA), daily tailgate safety meetings for each site visited, and daily end-of-day activity reports. Perform basic AC and DC electrical troubleshooting using multi-meter voltage, current, and ohm meters and take corrective action as necessary to restore customer service. Read and interpret construction drawings, electrical schematics, and other technical manuals. Interact with manufacturer technical support services and/or customer NOC via phone and email while on site. This requires attention to detail and a degree of patience while accurately describing system configurations and indicators and implementing recommended corrective actions.
Cvil:
  • Initial layouts, slab and trench excavation, concrete forming, rebar placement, and finishing in compliance with applicable local approved permits, State building codes, and applicable national standards such as ANSI, ACI, etc…
  • Coordinate with vacuum truck vendors when excavating in the Public Rights-of-Way (PROW) Electrical (AC & DC):
  • Cutting, threading, forming, joining and placement of electrical conduit (PVC, EMT, Rigid)
  • Pull-in electrical conductors, properly terminating conductors, and making proper final connections in compliance with
NEC / NESC
codes
  • Placement of grounding conductors, exothermic (CAD) welding, and meg-ohm testing Aerial
  • Ensure safe and stable positioning and setup of an aerial bucket truck
  • Ensure compliance with all safe working practices when working at elevations
  • Ensure compliance with all utility pole standards (wood, metal, or composite) such as
NESC & ANSI RF
& Fiber Cabling
  • Perform RF sweep testing, PIM testing, and fiber OTDR testing. This includes the ability to interpret the results and recommend courses of action.
  • Install or replace OEM wireless radios, diplexers, band-pass filters, power supplies, fiber multiplexer, OEM antennas Safety
  • Deploy traffic control devices for maintenance of traffic (MOT) according to MUTCD
  • Ensure safe working practices for all workers and pedestrians
  • Perform daily inspections of assigned truck, trailer, and other equipment per State & Federal DOT requirements Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Attention to safety, details, and quality workmanship is critical Requires basic experience with Microsoft Word and Excel using company provided laptop and the uploading of progress photos and as-built documentation. Good customer service skills in person, on the phone, and in writing Abilities to read and understand construction drawings and basic wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and graphs. Abilities to safely use basic hand and power tools. Knowledge of H.P. Analyzers, Anritsu RF sweep & PIM test equipment, and fiber OTDR testing equipment with the ability to interpret resulting data. Current certifications are preferred. Must possess a valid driver's license and pass background investigation and substance abuse testing Ability to obtain a Georgia CDL-A within the first year of employment, at company expense Current OSHA 30-Hour certification is preferred, or the ability to obtain certification within two months of employment, at company expense Ability to operate skid-steer, mini-excavator, aerial bucket truck, scissor lift, and other aerial work platforms and telehandlers Experience wiring AC & DC electrical circuits.
Education and Work Experience:
Military background or at least two years of relevant experience in the wireless telecommunications industry Experience leading construction crews
Work Conditions:
Ability to travel out of state for up to three weeks at a time, and 90% of the year, either locally or interstate. Ability to individually lift 70 lbs. safely Ability to work safely, day or night, performing work in high-traffic rights-of-way and in an aerial work platform at elevated work positions.
Physical Demands:
Ability to individually lift 70 lbs. safely Ability to work outside and stand for 12 hours per day.
