DIRECTOR OF PLANNING

The Director of Planning & Development provides strategic leadership and oversight for the transit agency's planning, scheduling, service development, and system performance initiatives. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of long- and short-range transportation plans that support agency's operational goals and strategic priorities. This role is ideal for an experienced manager or an entry level director who is ready for their next challenge. The Director leads the planning and development functions for fixed-route and paratransit services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Strategic Planning & Service Development Develops, implements, and oversees long- and short-range transit service plans, strategies, and programs aligned with agency's strategic goals and regional mobility initiatives. Directs transit service planning activities for fixed-route and paratransit operations, including route design, scheduling, service evaluations, and operational performance analysis. Conducts system-wide service assessments and cost-benefit analyses to improve operational efficiencies. Provides oversight and strategic direction for transit planning technologies and systems, including Avail, Route Match, GIS applications, ITS platforms, and related planning software.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Public Administration, or a related field from an accredited college. Master's degree preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
