In this role, you'll take ownership of big-picture strategy and day-to-day execution for store design projects across our portfolio. You'll guide a talented team, manage budgets, and ensure every project delivers on time, on budget, and with exceptional quality. This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You can work virtually from home or another non‑Best Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process. What you'll do Lead and develop a team of architects, engineers and planners to perform store remodels, relocations and major facility projects Translate design standards into site-specific plans and construction documents that bring our vision to life Partner with cross-functional teams, including construction, real estate and merchandising, to align scope, timelines and budgets Drive cost efficiency and quality improvements across projects while maintaining compliance with codes and standards Manage consultant contracts and vendor relationships, ensuring competitive bids and strong performance Demonstrate innovation and continuous improvement in store planning processes and design standards Basic qualifications 8 or more years of design, planning, architectural or engineering leadership experience 8 or more years of experience purchasing using negotiating strategies and funding strategies 8 or more years of retail experience, including working with store leadership and delivering solutions to improve overall customer experience, retention and growth 5 or more years of experience building functional teams and demonstrating strong people leadership Preferred qualifications Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Interior Design, or related field - or equivalent industry experience. Deep understanding of zoning, permitting, and entitlement requirements across multiple jurisdictions. Experience managing planning, production, or A/E consultant teams across large retail portfolios.
