We are looking for a Planner to work in the Construction and Facilities Management department. This position is based in Austin, 101 East 15th Street, and is a full-time in office position with an occasional out of town travel as needed. WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Planner V will perform highly advanced (senior-level) planning and research work. Work involves overseeing the development of local, regional, or state zoning, urban, transportation, emergency management, or site plans and programs; and conducting meetings with federal, state, and local officials and regional groups. May supervise the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO
Oversee planning and research projects and field surveys. Oversee and evaluate research and analysis of local, state, and national trends; policy issues; and proposed legislation, regulations, or rules; and reviews recommendations. Oversee and/or conduct planning studies such as feasibility studies or master plans. Oversee and/or develop short-range and long-range local and statewide plans, projects, or programs. Oversee and/or prepare complex reports, presentations, and technical documents. Administer the development of complex plans or programs, assesses the feasibility of planning proposals, and initiates program strategy development. Develop and evaluate policies and procedures for implementation, administration, and evaluation of plans or programs; and measures progress. Prepare and monitor performance measures. Consult on the planning, design, and implementation phases of planning projects. Lead and participate in technical, policy, and interagency planning meetings. Serve as a liaison between federal, state, and local agencies and regional groups in matters concerning the coordination of plans and services. Review and evaluate planning material for contractual compliance. Prepare material in response to requests for information and reports. Supervise the work of others. Perform related work as assigned.
YOU QUALIFY WITH
Five years of experience in planning and/or research, or in administrative management including experience in planning and/or research. Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH
Certified Texas Contract Management (CTCM) Certified Texas Contract Developer (CTCD) Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) Five years of recent full-time experience in commercial construction project management/facilities management work, strategic planning and policy implementation.
