Private Educator & Learning Coach (Special Education)About the Opportunity We are seeking an exceptional full-time Private Educator & Learning Coach to join our family and provide a highly personalized educational experience for our 10-year-old daughter. This is a rare opportunity to work one-on-one with a bright, curious, creative, and highly capable learner with an 2e (gifted + AuDHD (Autism Level 1 + ADHD) profile. Traditional educational environments have not fully met her needs, and we are building a personalized learning model designed around her strengths, interests, and neurodivergent profile. This is not a traditional teaching position. You will serve as educator, executive functioning coach, mentor, and learning architect—designing an individualized educational experience that combines academic excellence with emotional well-being, curiosity, independence, and real-world learning. Learning will extend well beyond textbooks and worksheets: you must be flexible in your approach and willing to modify depending on academic strengths and challenges. We believe education should be engaging, experiential, relationship-driven, and personalized to help our child reach their full potential. Key ResponsibilitiesBuild a Deep Understanding of the Learner Develop a trusting, supportive relationship built on respect, collaboration, and psychological safety. Understand our child's interests, strengths, motivations, learning style, sensory profile, executive functioning challenges, and emotional needs. Partner closely with us and outside providers—including occupational therapists, therapists, psychiatrists, executive functioning coaches, and other specialists—to create a coordinated, whole-child educational approach. Establish individualized academic, executive functioning, and social-emotional goals. Design & Deliver an Individualized Educational Program Design and implement a customized curriculum aligned with our child's interests, strengths, and long-term goals. Teach core academic subjects, including literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, writing, and technology. Create interdisciplinary, inquiry-based, and project-based learning experiences that promote curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, and communication. Incorporate educational technology and AI tools to personalize instruction and enrich learning. Adapt instruction continuously based on observation, progress, and student engagement. Develop Executive Function & Independence Coach executive functioning skills, including planning, organization, prioritization, time management, working memory, task initiation, and self-monitoring. Teach self-advocacy, resilience, and problem-solving strategies. Build routines and systems that foster increasing independence while providing appropriate support. Support a Neurodivergent Learner Apply evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, anxiety, and executive functioning challenges. Design learning experiences that are responsive to a PDA profile by minimizing unnecessary demands while maintaining high expectations. Support emotional regulation, sensory needs, social communication, and flexible thinking. Recognize behavior as communication and utilize collaborative, relationship-based approaches rather than compliance-based models. Create an environment where neurodiversity is understood, respected, and celebrated. Extend Learning Beyond the Classroom Plan experiential learning opportunities that connect academic concepts with real-world experiences. Incorporate museums, outdoor education, nature, travel, entrepreneurship, community engagement, STEM experiences, arts, and other authentic learning opportunities. Encourage curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. Assess & Communicate Progress Monitor academic, executive functioning, and social-emotional growth through authentic assessments, portfolios, projects, observations, and ongoing conversations. Maintain clear documentation of progress and learning plans. Communicate regularly with parents and collaborate with outside providers to ensure alignment across educational and therapeutic goals. Required Qualifications We are looking for an exceptional educator with demonstrated expertise supporting neurodivergent learners.

Candidates must possess:

Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Demonstrated professional experience supporting autistic learners, students with ADHD, anxiety, executive functioning differences, and other neurodivergent profiles. Demonstrated experience designing individualized educational plans and differentiated instruction. Demonstrated commitment to creating an LGBTQ+-affirming and inclusive learning environment for children and families. Strong understanding of executive functioning development and evidence-based intervention strategies. Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including occupational therapists, psychologists, speech-language pathologists, psychiatrists, and families. Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. Emotional maturity, patience, flexibility, and excellent judgment. A growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning. Applicant must undergo and pass all required background screenings, including the Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check (or equivalent for NH). Preferred Experience Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable: Homeschool, microschool, or independent school environments Gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) learners Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), or a willingness to learn evidence-informed approaches Project-based learning, inquiry-based learning, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Expeditionary Learning, Acton Academy, or other learner-centered educational models Educational technology and AI-assisted learning Portfolio and performance-based assessment Flexibility & Travel This is a dynamic, family-centered role that requires flexibility and adaptability. The primary work location is our home in Miami , and travel to Boston, MA. The educator should be comfortable traveling between both locations as needed, including on extended trips. All travel expenses, accommodations, and additional compensation related to required travel will be provided.
