We are the leading voice for business at the state Capitol. Position Overview The Policy & Advocacy Coordinator provides essential administrative and operational support to CBIA's Public Policy and Foundation teams. This role supports advocacy initiatives, legislative engagement, compliance reporting, and member outreach, and serves as a key point of contact with businesses, policymakers, and coalition partners. Key Responsibilities Coordinate policy councils, Foundation meetings, and advocacy events, including logistics, agendas, registrations, and follow-up communications. Manage communications with member businesses, policymakers, and coalition partners. Prepare and submit required lobbying, ethics, and compliance filings and reports. Support grassroots advocacy efforts, including email and text-based action alerts. Schedule business tours, speaking engagements, and meetings for Public Policy leadership. Maintain legislative, candidate, and bill tracking databases. Coordinate calendars and appointments for the Vice President of Public Policy. Assist with expense reporting, membership records, and administrative projects. Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of the legislative and public policy process preferred. Education & Experience Experience in administrative coordination, operations, or project support. Experience handling confidential information. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Copilot, and Dynamics 365. Experience with public policy, advocacy, government relations, or member-based organizations preferred. Additional Information Full-time position (37.5 hours per week). Some evening hours and travel within Connecticut required during legislative session
