Education Associate, State Board of Education Executive Director Delaware Department of Education | Dover, DE | Full-Time Make an Impact at the State Level The Delaware Department of Education is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as the Executive Director for the State Board of Education (SBE). This critical role ensures the effective and independent functioning of the SBE while supporting its statutory and administrative responsibilities. What You'll Do As the Executive Director, you will: Provide policy analysis and strategic guidance on legislation, regulations, and emerging education issues Serve as the primary liaison between the State Board, DOE, Governor's Office, Legislature, and stakeholders Lead board operations, including meeting planning, agendas, and follow-up Coordinate public communications, including social media and stakeholder engagement Support long-range planning and evaluation of Board priorities and impact Advise Board members with data, research, and actionable recommendations Supervise administrative support staff and manage special projects What You Bring Strong leadership, collaboration, and decision-making skills Expertise in education policy analysis and interpretation Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education, public administration, or related field (Master's preferred) Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience Experience in public education and/or working with diverse stakeholders preferred Knowledge of Delaware education policy and systems strongly preferred Why Join Us? Salary:

Salary Range:

$93,698.82-$143,867.10 annually. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's education and experience in accordance with the Department of Education's compensation policy. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, participation in the state retirement program, annual, sick, and personal leave, and supplemental benefits options. Direct deposit of payroll checks is a condition of state employment, and employees are paid on a lag pay schedule with the first payment made after approximately one month of employment.
