This role requires extensive online research, records retrieval, genealogy investigation, and direct coordination with county clerk offices and government agencies to obtain identification and presence documentation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, persistent, and comfortable navigating public records systems, historical archives, online forums, and government databases. Responsibilities Conduct research across multiple online forums, databases, archives, and public record systems to locate identification documents and proof-of-presence records for federal compensation claims Investigate historical residency, employment, military, and family records to support claimant documentation Contact clients by phone to collect missing information and clarify claim details Prepare and submit formal requests for records through county clerk offices and other government agencies Communicate directly with county clerks, records custodians, and government personnel regarding document retrieval and verification Track and organize document requests, follow-ups, and deadlines Review records for accuracy, completeness, and relevance to claims requirements Assist with genealogy and family lineage research to establish identity and relationships when necessary Maintain detailed case notes and organized physical records Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive claimant, medical, legal, and identifying information Qualifications Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience in research, genealogy, records retrieval, legal support, investigations, or claims support preferred Strong understanding of public records research and government document processes Familiarity with genealogy research tools and historical records databases Ability to work directly with government offices and county clerks professionally and effectively Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously Proficient with online research tools, spreadsheets, and document management systems Self-motivated and capable of independent investigative work Preferred Experience Genealogy or ancestry research FOIA/social security administration records requests Legal assistant or paralegal experience Historical document retrieval Research involving military, employment, or residency records What We Offer Stable Monday-Friday, 9-5 schedule Professional office environment Monthly performance-based bonus incentive Paid time off, paid holidays, and paid sick time Medical insurance and 401k Plan On site gym access How to Apply Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience.
