The Firm is seeking a full time Conflicts Analyst to become an integral part of the conflicts team in the Records Services Department in the Firm's York office. As a member of the conflicts team, the Conflicts Analyst is responsible for supporting new matter intake and lateral attorney hiring by helping to generate conflicts reports regarding new matters and lateral employee hires. In carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position, the Conflicts Analyst will work closely with the attorneys involved in particular matters, members of the General Counsel's office, and colleagues on the new business team. This non-exempt position reports to the Conflicts Administrator. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Conducting conflicts of interest searches on all parties involved in prospective new matters, lateral attorney conflicts clearances, or other conflicts requests. Researching parties' parents, investors, subsidiaries, and sanctions using various external databases and research tools. Helping to ensure that procedures and guidelines for the creation of new clients/matters have been followed. Interacting with lawyers and Firm staff to assist in conflicts search submission and processing. Validating that the requirements for conflicts checks are accurate based on the information provided by the lawyer through the conflicts system. Assisting leadership, Firm lawyers, and staff with training and navigation of the conflict's workflow platform. Collaborating with the new matter intake team on submissions and reactivation of matters. Working with team members and leadership to support the completion of special projects, as assigned. Help to maintain the Firm's various watch lists such as restricted securities, sanctions, outside counsel guidelines, confidential, tracking and miscellaneous.
Requirements:
Excellent organizational and communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Knowledge of research and/or conflicts search techniques. Knowledge of corporate "family tree" relationships as well as current business affiliations and developments. Ability to prioritize, organize, and take initiative to meet user needs effectively. Ability to work independently, efficiently, and under pressure with multiple competing deadlines. Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed to assist with urgent matters.
Specific Technical Knowledge:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Ability to learn new software programs a must.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor's degree. Familiarity with law firm conflicts management programs (e.g. iManage Conflicts Management/Elegrity or Intapp) and entity research databases (e.g. S&P Capital IQ, D&B Hoovers).
