Job Description

The Tennessee Department of Health is seeking a Public Health Administrator 1 to perform administrative and regulatory work supporting professional licensing boards. The position is responsible for reviewing license applications, permits, certifications, renewals, and reciprocity requests to determine completeness, accuracy, and eligibility in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30
PM CST Hours:
7.5 hours/day Key Responsibilities Review licensing applications, permits, and certifications for completeness, accuracy, status, and eligibility. Recommend acceptance or rejection of applications according to applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Review and process license renewals and reciprocity requests . Evaluate licensing certificates, registrations, and other professional credentials. Issue licenses, certificates, registrations, or other statements of authority. Maintain accurate licensing and payment records. Match payments with appropriate licensee records. Process or adjust payments in licensing databases as applicable. Process refunds and returned checks. Enter and update information from multiple sources into databases. Prepare reports for regulatory boards. Respond to applicant questions concerning licensing requirements. Explain policies, procedures, and laws to applicants, members of the public, board members, and other entities. Coordinate regulatory board or commission meetings. Coordinate competency examinations and applicant notifications. Review case status through established databases. Communicate case findings and policy deviations to supervisors, directors, or attorneys. May monitor the status of investigations involving licensed professionals.
Pay:
$28.00 per hour Expected hours: 37.5 per week
