Job Description
Strategic Campaign Specialist based in either Oakland or Los Angeles, CA
Submitted by ADonahue on April 20, 2026 The California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee is seeking a highly skilled Campaigns Specialist to conduct strategic research, analysis, and communications, assist in developing comprehensive campaigns, and coordinate campaign activities. This position is based in either Oakland or Los Angeles, California and will require periodic travel as needed throughout the country in support of field campaigns. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the fight for social, political, and economic justice.
Minimum Requirements:
3 years' experience researching, developing, and conducting strategic comprehensive campaigns; Demonstrated commitment to social and economic justice; Demonstrated research, writing, and analytical skills including the ability to interpret, synthesize, and summarize primary research and complex regulatory materials; Experience writing for a variety of external and internal audiences and in a variety of formats; Strong ability to analyze power structures and develop supporting campaigns and materials; Experience working closely with others as part of a successful team; Ability to work independently, under pressure and with tight deadlines;Desired Qualifications:
Proficiency in data management, manipulation, and analysis using systems like SQL, GIS, R, or Python; Experience in labor or community organizing or collective bargaining; Strong background in strategic research methods, including power mapping, investigative research, and opposition research; Experience with public speaking and giving presentations on research and analysis; Communications experience including servings as a spokesperson for an organization, conducting or giving interviews, media outreach, and developing traditional and digital media strategies. We offer a competitive annual salary in the range of $103,548-$120,228 dependent on skills and experience.
