Job Description

Communication & Management Services, LLC (CMS), a Helena-based human resource and management consulting firm, is seeking an Research & Association Specialist to join our team. This isn't a traditional administrative position. The person we hire will provide technical support for association-management clients and compensation/salary survey participants while also having the opportunity to learn and become involved in human resource and management consulting. What you'll do Your primary responsibilities will include: Contact employers participating in CMS salary surveys. Collect, organize, review, and compile salary and benefit data. Build and maintain Excel spreadsheets and project databases. Identify missing or inconsistent information and follow up with survey participants. Prepare tables, charts, and reports. Proofread and format professional client documents. Assist CMS consultants with research and other client projects. Maintain membership databases and prepare membership reports. Communicate with association and board members, job candidates, and survey participants. Help prepare newsletters and member communications. Attend and assist with board and committee meetings, including agendas, materials, and meeting minutes. Opportunity to grow We are particularly interested in finding someone who wants to learn. As you develop proficiency, you may become involved in job analysis, compensation studies, development of job descriptions, HR policies, recruitment and selection, organizational projects, client meetings, and other consulting assignments. For someone with the right aptitude and interest, this position can provide a pathway into professional human resource and management consulting. You may be a good fit if you: Are very comfortable with computers and learning new software. Have strong Excel skills or the aptitude to develop them. Like working with numbers and detailed information. Notice errors and inconsistencies that other people miss. Write and proofread well. Are comfortable contacting people by phone and email. Can keep several projects organized at the same time. Follow assignments through without needing constant supervision. Are curious and enjoy learning how organizations work. Want a position where your responsibilities can grow as your skills grow. A degree or experience in business, human resources, communications, public administration, data analysis, accounting, association/nonprofit management, or a related field is helpful. We will also consider candidates with strong demonstrated abilities and relevant experience who don't fit a traditional educational path.
Compensation:
$22.00-$29.00/hour depending on qualifications. CMS offers flexible working hours, paid leave, retirement benefits, training, professional development, and opportunities for increased responsibility and compensation.
