Emergency & Outage Logistics Support Provide logistics support during planned outages, forced outages, emergency events, and storm restoration . Make timely transportation decisions in situations where operational needs may change rapidly. Coordinate expedited or emergency transportation when necessary. Work effectively in high-pressure situations involving critical utility materials and equipment. Participate in required on-call, after-hours, weekend, holiday, or shift coverage based on operational needs. Maintain effective communication with carriers, suppliers, operations personnel, and internal customers throughout emergency response activities. Carrier & Vendor Management Develop and maintain strong working relationships with transportation carriers, suppliers, vendors, and internal customers. Evaluate carrier capabilities based on shipment type, service requirements, delivery expectations, and pricing. Negotiate freight pricing and transportation agreements to maximize value and freight savings. Assist with carrier selection and transportation-service decisions. Monitor carrier performance and assist in resolving service-related concerns. Communicate clearly with carriers regarding pickup requirements, delivery expectations, equipment needs, and special handling instructions. DOT & Transportation Compliance The Traffic Specialist should possess working knowledge of applicable transportation regulations and requirements, including: U.S. Department of Transportation ( DOT ) regulations. 49 CFR transportation requirements. Compensation Pay Rate:
