This position serves as a Regional Operions Planner within Marine Corps Community Services, Marine Corps Installions West-Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. This position serves in both the current and future operions section to enable comprehensive near, mid and long-term planning. This position is responsible for comprehensive long-range planning, development, and management of complex, multi-disciplinary projects across four geographically dispersed Installions while coordining with additional adjacent Installions for Regional mters. This position routinely coordines efforts on behalf ofMCCS, MCIWEST
with Headquarters Marine Corps (MR/MF and MCICOM). This position routinely coordines, plans and implements various initiives in partnership with adjacent staff sections, Major Subordine Commands, Installions and MCCS Divisions and oversees projects from initial concept through completion, ensuring alignment with installion master plans, regional stregic goals, and budgetary constraints. Acts as an MCCS expert and advisor to the MCCS Regional Operions Officer and Deputy AC/S on technical and operional mters while ensuring detailed, effective and well-designed planning efforts across all lines of effort. This position regularly tends meetings on behalf ofMCCS, MCIWEST
focused on MCCS operions, planning and support coordinion efforts while ensuring effective efforts within current/future operions. This position applies analytical and project managements expertise to plan, coordine and execute regionally significant initiives while integring input across all MCCS functional areas and Installions. This position develops comprehensive briefs while preparing for and briefing MCCS issues across a myriad of functional areas. This position serves as a key planner in areas representingMCCS MCIWEST
in special events, large scale efforts and s. Coordines with MCCS Divisions, Installion staff and external entities to ensure compliance and mission alignment. Plans and coordines current operions in support of special events, ceremonies, and command support efforts. Participes as a key member of the Regional Defense Operions Center (RDOC) and member of the Crisis Action Team (CAT). This position serves as a primary liaison betweenMCCS MCIWEST
Installions and internal/external stakeholders. Prepares and delivers briefings to senior leadership. Participes and serves as the primary contact for coordinion of cross-functional working groups, operional planning teams, conferences and training events. Contributes to the development of a 5¿10-year stregic plan supporting revenue generion, programmic delivery and event coordinion. This position encompasses the overall execution of highly visible MCCS Regional programming and support through the implemention of goals and objectives. This position serves as a primary planner for coordinion of functionality assessments and other high-level s to both the Installion and Region. This position provides weekly MCCS operions updes to the Regional Operions Officer and Deputy AC/S on all current/future operions requirements. This position assists with the coordinion of operions with and in support of MCCS activities Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, Marine Corps Air Stion Camp Pendleton, and Marine Corps Air Stion Yuma. Additional coordinion efforts and responses to taskers as needed with Marine Corps Air Stion Miramar and the Service Level Training Installions (SLTI) as required. Coordines across the Installions and with all commands to enable highly effective, responsive and timely MCCS support across the full spectrum of the MCCS capabilities. Coordines staff actions impacting MCCS across and with all MCIWEST-Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton staff sections the regional level along with other adjacent and supported units. Through interpretion of directives from higher authority, research, interviews, analysis and evaluion, makes recommendions for implementing decisions on improving the effectiveness of work methods, procedures, organizions, planning and establishing organizional goals and objectives through informion management and administrive processes. Ensure highly effective coordinion to achieve unity of effort to enable MCCS goals, objectives and mission success through the coordined efforts of ten Divisions supporting five Installions directly within the MCIWEST area along with support as needed to the SLTI¿s. (cont): This position assists with timely and effective tracking, consolidion and response to taskers from HQMC, MCICOM, MR/MF or supported commands. Tracking and responding to taskers through approprie systems and plforms. Ensures tasks are prioritized in support of the intent provided by the MCCS leadership. This position participes in and is a key member of the staff th implements the Marine Corps Planning Process. Represents MCCS on various committees or with adjacent organizions. Performs duties for military-reled social functions and coordines MCCS participion/support for military base training operions. Coordines activities involving civilian agencies. Monitors time-sensitive and high-profile projects. Ghers necessary da through research or from available resources, analyzes da, produces useful informion, uses th informion to form necessary reports and directives for approval from the MCCS AC/S and Deputy AC/S. Responds to and drafts into approprie form briefing slides, correspondence, stistical merial, reports, special projects and notes for briefs to commands all levels. Provides guidance to and synchronizion of current and future operions impacting MCCS across the full portfolio of support efforts. Establishes and maintains turnover file on recurring activities. Supervises the coordined planning to include operional planning teams, integred planning and leads special projects. This position prepares read ahead, Quad Charts, Briefs, Informion and Decision papers, and reports. This position participes as a representive during the planning and execution of MCCS efforts in Force Protection Exercises and serves as one of the primary MCCS representives in theMCIWEST RDOC.
Represents MCCS on various committees, planning teams to ensure the organizions operions, resources and capabilities are effectively implemented. Coordines with and across the Operions sections to ensure timely response, submission and coordinion is achieved through both reoccurring and unanticiped organizional requirements, tasking and planning. Assists with the effective coordinion with Higher Headquarters to includeMCICOM, HQMC
MR/MF and all supported commands. May travel to complete work assignments.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: A minimum of four years¿ reled experience in management and supervision, specifically significant experience reled to operions planning while working with staff and administrive process and activities Relevant educion may be used as a substitute for experience. Knowledge of Marine Corps structure, policies and procedures is required. Must be familiar with MCCS management policies, concepts, practices, and principles in order to support operions and administrive planning and coordinion along with ability to opere computer and associed software. Must have the ability to deal courteously, effectively and tactfully with others, even in stressful environments. Flexibility in working conditions and hours is required.
