SHN supports counties, cities, special districts, and tribes across Northern California with a broad range of current and long-range planning services, helping clients navigate complex regulatory requirements and move projects from concept to approval. This role requires strong relationship-building skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative environment. You'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team that includes AICP-certified planners, environmental planners, biologists, wetland scientists, and GIS specialists, contributing to projects that have a lasting impact on local communities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
A strong municipal planning background, minimum of 4 years' experience Research skills using agency websites and GIS platforms Excellence in client care, expense tracking, and project management Leadership abilities and desire to coach junior staff Excellent communication skills In-depth knowledge of CEQA/NEPA and permitting (local, state, and federal) Experience in grant writing and administration
Compensation & Benefit Highlights:
