Municipal Planner Compensation and Benefits:
Mid level Planner salary (4 years + experience)
  • $65•79K Sr.
level Planner (8 years + experience)
  • $83•125k Bonus potential 401k match Comprehensive benefits package
Municipal Planner Responsibilities:
Lead and manage complex planning and permitting projects for public and private sector clients Collaborate with senior, mid-level, and staff planners to deliver successful project outcomes Anticipate project impacts and develop effective mitigation strategies Navigate scheduling, funding, regulatory, and stakeholder challenges Partner with municipalities, tribes, developers, agricultural, construction, mining, and forestry clients to support project success
Municipal Planner Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a planning-related field from an accredited university 4+ years of professional planning experience with municipalities or private clients (planning, technical studies, design) Knowledge of CEQA/NEPA and permitting processes (local, CDFW, Coastal Commission, Army Corps, RWQCB) Skilled in technical and grant writing, QA/QC, and report preparation Strong municipal planning background Strong research skills and use of agency websites and GIS platforms Valid CA driver's license
