Full Job Description General Summary:
Our Community Planners collaborate with clients and industry consultants to understand the unique opportunities and challenges of each site. They develop unique, feasible solutions that balance private property rights with public regulations and advance optimal project outcomes. Working across a diverse portfolio of residential, mixed-use, institutional, and industrial projects, Community Planners have the opportunity to help shape the future of Florida communities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Manage relationships with clients, local governments, industry consultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate data collection and analysis, rezoning requests, due diligence reports, and site plan development while managing concurrent deadlines and budgets.
- Conduct or coordinate meetings and presentations with team members, applicants, development professionals, and reviewing agencies.
- Track project milestones and deliverables to support client expectations, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams that may include engineers, landscape architects, environmental scientists, and GIS specialists.
- Anticipate and creatively solve problems while protecting project outcomes, timelines, and the company's professional reputation.
- Complete multiple assignments with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
- Knowledge of strategic and current planning issues in Florida.
- Working knowledge of local government organization, policies, procedures, and land-use review processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong reading comprehension and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining strategic focus and producing results.
- Team-focused work ethic, commitment to continuous improvement, and dedication to client satisfaction.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability and willingness to learn new software and local planning tools.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or GIS is preferred.
Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:
- Bachelor's degree in planning or a related field required.
- At least two years of professional experience in planning or a related field required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification, or ability to obtain certification required.
- Valid driver's license required.
Additional Duties, Supervisory Responsibilities and Work Environment:
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities
- This is a full-time, in-person office position.
- Work is performed in a standard clerical office environment and is largely sedentary. Regular use of office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets is required.
- Fast-paced, friendly, and collaborative office environment.
Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, with no regular weekend work; occasional extended hours may be required.
