POSITION SUMMARY
The Transportation Bus Router supports the student transportation services by managing bus schedules, ensuring routes meet operational demands, and providing valuable information from various sources. This role also involves collecting and sharing details about transportation system operations to keep everything running smoothly.

Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: reading maps; operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications; and planning and managing projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
(Generally ranges from 5-10 bullet points) Administers the computerized transportation system to provide support for transportation services. Assists with reviewing and assigning routes, measuring distances, and designating bus stops to ensure compliance with state guidelines. Audits routes to recommend changes, optimize timing, and improve efficiency. Communicates with drivers and staff to resolve route-related issues and review route maps. Compiles route statistics (mileage, driver time, student count, etc.) to meet reporting requirements. Evaluates routes to ensure compliance with school safety schedules, policies, and guidelines. Maintains accurate data in the scheduling system, including school, employee, and driver schedules. Keeps route descriptions and maps up-to-date for reference. Prepares reports and recommends route adjustments or consolidations to accommodate changes like student needs or road closures. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
