Stone Mountain-100% Onsite The Transportation Analyst I evaluates and designs transportation and distribution procedures to maximize delivery efficiency. Duties include, but are not limited to: Assist in research and analysis of freight costs and classifications, delivery methods, and delivery schedules to minimize delivery costs and maximize customer satisfaction. Maintain databases of freight costs, transportation networks, and carrier information. Assist in negotiating transportation rates in accordance with company guidelines and standards as needed. Assist in the analysis of transportation costs, equipment availability, and service levels. Conduct cost studies to evaluate transportation alternatives and identify opportunities for cost savings. Support the preparation of monthly carrier performance and transportation reports. Assist with month-end freight reporting and reconciliation activities. Review and audit freight invoices for accuracy, identifying discrepancies and assisting with issue resolution. Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize, analyze, and report transportation data. May assist in coordinating foreign merchandise production, quota, customs documentation, and transportation. May work with customs officials to help resolve delays and obtain release of incoming freight. Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits of each mode. Basic understanding of transportation and logistics concepts. Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create spreadsheets, use formulas, sort and analyze data, and generate reports. Experience with PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and basic data analysis is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to learn transportation reporting, freight auditing, and carrier performance measurement processes. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
