Town Planner

Job Description

Overview The Town of Palmer seeks an experienced and motivated Town Planner to lead the Town's planning, land use, economic development, and community development initiatives. Responsibilities This professional position manages the Planning Office, serves as staff to the Planning Board, oversees the Conservation Agent, and coordinates the review of subdivision, site plan, and special permit applications. The Town Planner provides technical guidance to municipal boards, departments, developers, and residents on zoning, land use, and development matters while leading long-range planning efforts and Master Plan updates. Responsibilities also include grant writing and administration, including local, state and federal grants, while fostering economic development opportunities and streamlining the permitting process. Requirements Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in planning or a related field and at least five (5) years of municipal planning experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. AICP certification and Regional Planning Agency experience are preferred. Pay:
$75,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
