DESCRIPTION OF WORK

: The primary purpose of this position is to provide professional planning services and conduct research to support current and long-range projects. Work is performed independently and includes supervisory and collaborative responsibilities requiring strong interpersonal and public relation skills. Candidates should possess a comprehensive knowledge of County ordinances, code enforcement, public sector planning and GIS systems; have working familiarity with deeds, maps and legal descriptions; and demonstrate proficiency with research, data analysis, effective oral and written communications, and presentation techniques.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor's degree in urban or regional planning, geography, public administration, community development or a related field is required. Technical and administrative work in a local government planning office, ACIP certification, and 3-5 years applicable experience is preferred, OR a directly related combination of education and experience.
