Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
The City Planner position is responsible for designing and implementing plans for land use, oversee project planning and development for residential, commercial and public structures, update and maintain city codes, policies and procedures related to land use planning, and provide staff support to the City's Planning Commission. This position will direct the development and implementation of growth management through reviewing development and related land use permit applications, site plans and variance applications.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in urban planning or closely related field with a minimum of three years' progressively responsible experience in local government planning; or an equivalent combination of education and experience to provide sufficient evidence of the successful performance of the essential function of the position. Candidate must possess and maintain a valid Ohio Driver License. Certification as a Planner and current membership in the American Planning Association preferred. The selection process will include screening of all applicants for pre-requisites and credentials and an oral interview(s) on a date to be determined. Prior to appointment, the successful candidate will submit to an extensive background investigation, pre-employment drug screening, and physical.
