CITY PLANNER - MANAGEMENT

Description:
City of Piqua, OH located in the west central portion of the state in the northern Miami Valley region (Dayton MSA), is accepting applications for the position of City Planner whose duties are performed independently under the general direction of the Community Services Director. The City Planner work involves setting policies and goals under the direction of the Community Development Director. Manages Code Compliance staff and coordinates permitting work with the Administrative Assistant. Performs difficult advanced technical work administering land use codes and related permitting and inspection activities; Facilitates activities of the Board of Zoning Appeals, City Historic Review Commission and Planning Commission; Reports to commissions, boards, committees, stakeholders and the public in land use decisions and public policy matters; Conducting planning studies; Supports the creation and maintenance of departmental GIS data under the direction of the GIS Manager and in coordination with the GIS Department.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in urban planning or related field and three (3) to five (5) years of experience in planning, project management, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Equivalent combination of higher education and experience may be accepted. Position Type /
