Full Job Description Overview:

Kimley-Horn is looking for Planning graduates to join our Nashville, TN office focusing on Transportation in 2027! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities:

Support comprehensive transportation planning, corridor studies, long-range transportation plans, and land use plans. Develop clear, data-driven planning materials through multimodal transportation analysis, GIS mapping, visual presentations, and technical writing to support project development. Participate in stakeholder meetings, public workshops, community outreach events, and agency coordination meetings. Prepare technical memoranda, planning reports, presentations, and planning recommendations. Collaborate with internal and external teams on transportation, transit, land development, and urban design projects.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, Public Policy, Urban Design, or a related field. 0-3 years of relevant experience in transportation planning. Interest in multimodal transportation, transit, land use, and community planning. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to synthesize technical information into clear, client-ready deliverables. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online Experience with Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with Power BI and other data analysis tools. Experience with urban and graphic design applications (SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator)

• Experience supporting public involvement, stakeholder engagement, or community outreach efforts. Familiarity with travel demand modeling, transportation simulation, or transportation forecasting.
